School History

The Fitzpatrick Dancers have performed at a variety of venues including:
 The Wildwood Irish Festival, The Valley Forge Winter Scottish/Irish Festival,  Philly Irish Festival, Broadway at the Beach- Myrtle Beach, NC, Molly Malone’s Irish Yacht  Pub in  St. Thomas, VI,  Walt Disney World, Fla., Disneyland, Ca, Universal Studios, Ca, Ireland - Busch Gardens, Virginia, The Bristol Riverside Theater, The Trenton War Memorial Theater,  St. Patrick’s Day Parades in Lower  Bucks County and Philadelphia,  Doylestown Memorial Day Parade, Renaissance Faires, International Days, festivals, weddings, parties, schools, benefits, and at area retirement homes and schools. We have performed with Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones as well as the bands Blackthorn and Belfast Connection.  

Maggie Fitzpatrick Guenther  has studied under the direction of Bea Bennett of the Carr-Bennett School in Philadelphia and then under the direction of Cyril McNiff of the McNiff School in New York.    We  also work with  and have many influences from many talented dancers/performers  who work with us  throughout the year.    The dancers have many opportunities to work with some great dancers with many different styles and talents- and it shows.

The Fitzpatrick School of Irish Dance has been in existence since 1994.  It is an organization formed for the preservation and promotion of  Irish culture through the traditional art of Irish step dance. 

 

The Fitzpatrick School of Irish Dance is an accredited Irish dance school.  Teacher and artistic director Maggie Fitzpatrick Guenther has obtained her T.C.R.G. certification and is a certified teacher with the An Coimisiun Le  Rinci Gaelacha, Dublin, Ireland, The Irish Dance Teachers Association of  North America, and the Irish Dance Teachers Association – Mid Atlantic  Region.
